Rank Scheduling: Rank Scheduling Process

How rank scheduling using the OASIS lottery tool works:

Rank scheduling opens (9am on Day 1):

To add selections in OASIS, please see this UserVoice article. You may submit your preferences at any time while the rank scheduling stage is open. Within this window, it does not matter if you save your preferences sooner or later. Rank scheduling does not run on a first-come, first-served basis.

Note:

  • Waitlist electives cannot be selected during rank scheduling (with the exception of R4R during the R4R rank scheduling).
  • Selections for later months will be removed. (You should not be able to add selections for later months; the placeholder course for a month will be removed before that month's rank scheduling opens.)
  • You can, but do not need to, add courses with no enrollment maximums as a rank scheduling selection (i.e., Board Prep, Interviews).

Rank scheduling closes (noon on Day 2):

OASIS will attempt to place you in one elective from your selections.

Once the rank scheduling stage closes at noon and we run the rank scheduling, OASIS will assign each student a priority number at random. OASIS will make one assignment maximum per student for each rank scheduling stage based on your selections and the number of spots available in the course. Once a course is filled, no additional students will be placed in the course—OASIS will skip to the next available course on your list.

Rank scheduling results are released (5pm on Day 2):

At 5pm, we will release the results in OASIS. Once results are released, you are able to add/drop electives in OASIS for this rank scheduling stage until 4 weeks (28 days) prior to the elective start date (but not while another rank scheduling stage is open/running).

Note:

  • The current year in OASIS will be closed while the rank scheduling is processed between noon and 5pm.
  • Once rank scheduling results are released, you can add yourself to waitlists corresponding to this rank scheduling stage (but not while another rank scheduling stage is open/running).
  • After the R4R rank scheduling, R4R will become a waitlist course, and you must add yourself to the waitlist if you want to switch enrollment between March and April. The waitlist will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis.
