General Info: Important Policies

Please review the following policies and procedures relevant to D&I. If you have any questions, please submit a UserVoice ticket.

Four Week (Late Add/Drop) Policy: You may make changes to your schedule up to four weeks (28 days) prior to the start of an elective. At the four-week mark, course directors and coordinators assemble their rosters for the following month, assign supervisors, and prepare your schedules. For this reason, we do not permit changes with fewer than four weeks’ notice, except in the following circumstances with approval of the Associate Dean of Student Affairs and the elective course director:
  • Personal emergency of the student
  • Faculty or course not available
  • Change in career path
  • Urgent academic matter
This policy applies to all electives. You also may not sign up for an elective after it has begun.

Attendance/Absence Policy: If you are absent four or more days of an elective, you will receive an incomplete for the elective, and be required to make up the missed time and possibly the entire course. More information on excused absences may be found on the VP&S website.
