What is VSLO?
- VSLO (Visiting Student Learning Opportunities) is an AAMC application service that allows universities to accept visiting students from across North America.
How is VSLO different from OASIS?
- VSLO is an application service for visiting students. All visiting student applications will be available on VSLO for review.
- OASIS is our registration platform for ALL medical student enrollment. Please use OASIS as your central resource for roster information. Visiting students will be added to the course roster after they accept placement.
Who can apply for electives in VSLO?
- All allopathic and osteopathic domestic visiting students may apply for electives at VP&S in VSLO.
- Some International Exchange students will use VSLO, and others will use OASIS to apply.
Can we add additional requirements for our elective(s) like letters of recommendation, letters of intent, and board scores?
How do I know how many spots I have available in any given rotation?
- Your official rosters are in OASIS. There, you can check how many spots you can offer to visiting students. Please be sure to keep track of the offers you are making so that you do not extend more offers than you have spots.
Will Curricular Affairs reject an applicant that the department has scheduled?
- It is not common; however, if a visiting student fails to submit necessary post-decision application requirements at least 30 days prior, their offer may be revoked.
