VSLO: Instructions
How to Schedule and Deny Applications in VSLO (also see how-to guides)
1. Log Into VSLO: Go to https://vslo.aamc.org/vslo and enter your username and password.
Submit a request if you don’t already have access. You may also need to call VSLO support at 202-478-9878 and request that they remove your student access if you used VSLO in the past as a student.
2. REVIEW APPLICATIONS: After logging in, click the Schedule link under My Applications.
3. Filter for your electives only: Filter by Elective Code. Make sure the correct Catalog and Preferred Month are selected.
Important: In addition to the 2025-2026 catalog, please also check the 2025-2026 International catalog.
Click APPLY FILTERS each time you make a change. Click CLEAR FILTERS to reset.
4. View Application Documents: To review application materials, click the down arrow on the left side of each application. You can also click on the student’s name to view all of their student details. The various columns in Schedule also contain useful information.
5. Check your roster in OASIS: Make sure to check your roster in OASIS (https://oasis.cumc.columbia.edu/) for availability.
**Curricular Affairs will schedule all approvals regardless of whether space is available on your roster, so please confirm availability.
6. Decide: In VSLO, Schedule or Deny using the buttons on the far right of each application (make sure to scroll all the way to the right).
**If you accidentally schedule or deny an application that isn’t yours, please contact us immediately.
Make sure to follow the timeframes specified here.
For denials, you will need to select a reason:
Departmental Denial |
If declining all elective applications from an individual student |
Does Not Meet Course Requirements |
If a student’s application has insufficiencies that prevent you from accepting them |
No Slot Available |
If there is no space on the roster in OASIS |
Offered Different Elective |
If you are offering them a different elective or month |
Once you have scheduled or denied a student, they will no longer appear in the Schedule tab. If they are still appearing, they have more applications for processing. If you want to check a student’s status at a later time, you can go to the Applications tab and look them up by name.
